Stables cottage is a quaint little self catering cottage set in the rural parish of Eskdalemuir. The cottage has two bedrooms, a double bedroom upstairs, and a single bedroom downstairs. The upstairs bedroom has a double bed, and is large and airy looking out over the garden to the rear of the property.The single bedroom is downstairs and has a single bed. In addition there is a sofa bed in the living room, which allows the cottage to sleep five. Central heating, hot water and space heating is provided by a solid fuel stove in the living room, which burns logs and coal, is easy to light, and stays in overnight keeping the cottage warm and cosy. We are happy to light the stove in advance of the arrival of guests to ensure a warm welcome. We are family and pet friendly, in fact we really enjoy the visits of families especially if they have a dog. The kitchen in Stables cottage is well appointed with a washing machine, electric cooker, micro wave, fridge and a freezer. There is a good selection of plates, cutlery, pots, pans and all the usual things you would expect in a kitchen. Bedding is supplied along with towels. Wood, coal and electricity are also included in the price. Stables cottage has a very private garden to the rear of the property, which has garden furniture. We ask guests not to smoke inside Stables cottage, but we have no objections to guests smoking in the garden. The cottage has interesting grounds around it, which includes a mature stand of trees, and a lovely little stream. In the woods there are tree swings and a slide for children, as well as a fairy glen for very little ones. We also have a full size table tennis table in the barn which guests are welcome to use. At the drop of a hat I am ready to show children our water rocket in action, which is impressive if they have not seen one before. The cost of renting Stables cottage is £70 per night, however if there are more than three guests, then there is a surcharge of £10 per person per night. We are happy to allow guests to book the cottage for a minimum of one night, however if guests book the cottage for a week they get a 20% discount. We do not have too many rules. No parties, no smoking inside the cottage, children and dogs have to be supervised at all times, no leaving dogs alone in the property. Have a good time and enjoy your visit. We do our very best to make our guests feel welcomed, and get great satisfaction from happy visitors.
