About Norman Wisenden - The model railway business After over 50 years trading in Greenfield, Oldham, Norman Wisenden - model railway business re-located to Stalybridge, Cheshire in 2009. This is just 4 miles from the Greenfield shop premises and is easily accessible from Manchester, Oldham and the surrounding areas. We are now based at Copley Mill, Huddersfield Road, Stalybridge, which is a lovely converted cotton mill and has plenty of free parking for our customers who prefer to collect their orders, therefore saving money on postage fees. We are just 5 minutes from Stalybridge Railway Station and there are plenty of buses that go past Copley Mill stopping just outside. The business was originally set up by Norman Wisenden in 1957. He sold the business to Sue Willett in July 2005 when he retired. Sadly Norman passed away in November 2007. The name of the business has remained the same and is known worldwide. We sell a wide variety of items, including: new and used models, new and used books, dvd''s and videos, modelling tools and have a selection of gift items, including: pictures, ceramic plates, pewter figures etc. We also cater for other hobbies to order, including dolls houses, aircraft, boats, matchstick kits etc. We have an extensive range of stock and includes the following ranges: Hornby, Bachmann, Ratio, Peco, Harburn Hamlet, Javis, Gaugemaster, Slaters, C & L Finescale, Oakwood Press, Foxline, Ian Allan, Rothbury cards and giftware.
