Here at Nurture and Nurse our mission is to help mothers to breastfeed through mother-to-mother peer support, both before and after birth. Nurture and Nurse has a team of trained peer supporters who are all mothers and have breastfed their own children. We visit families in their own homes, as well as running various groups. Our staff have a passion for breastfeeding and have completed the full OCN-accredited peer support training, ensuring they have all the skills and knowledge required to support mothers in their choices. They have also volunteered or worked in various mother/baby settings. We are able to provide help for individual families based on circumstances or need. We provide free antenatal group workshops, one to one workshops and/or support to families in the home after birth. Our focus is on supporting women who have made an informed choice on how to feed their baby. They are a great opportunity to ask questions and meet other parents-to-be. Parents who attend an antenatal breastfeeding workshop will be given information on how to book individual peer support with Nurture and Nurse. For more information and to book you can email us on support@nurtureandnurse.co.uk. We offer free pregnancy workshops for parents-to-be at any stage of pregnancy. These workshops run throughout the year and cover topics such as: How will I know my baby has had enough? Feeding in public. Breastfeeding myths. What’s in breast milk? Workshops dates in 2014 are : Thursday 18th September 6.30-7.30pm. Friday 24th October 1.30-2.30. Thursday 27th November 6.30-7.30. Friday 19th December 1.30-2.30. ** FREE FRIDAY DROP IN ** Come and meet our friendly peer supporters at our base at Cornerstone Community Church, Eccles, M30 0UG from 10.30-12 who will be on hand to chat about the services we offer. We are currently located at Cornerstone Community Church in Eccles and can provide Peer Support to antenatal and postnatal Mums within a 15 mile radius.
