The childminders in Portlethen Childminding Group aim to provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment for children and young people to experience a "home from home" place to be cared for. This is achieved by providing a range of activities both inside and out of our homes. There are also provisions in place for children who attend local 2''s group, playgroups, nursery and schools. We have fantastic local facilities which the Portlethen Childminding Group have access to. For example: * Bookbug sessions at the local library where the children interact with other young children, sing songs and read books. * The Jubilee Hall where the children are welcomed by members of the community of all ages. * The local Community Centre is available to us and the children enjoy playing with different toys and meeting up with their friends. * The group also visit Brewsters where the children get great exercise climbing and playing whilst having lots of fun with their friends. We also have access to the local church hall, where 18 years or so ago some of the longest serving members of the Portlethen Childminding Group set up a morning for all local childminders and the children they care for. This group is still going strong today, providing a great place for children to have fun, play and interact with others and those original members are still a massive part of this amazing group. Aswell as attending many groups the childminders, children and their families, along with other fantastic members of our community, fundraise donating to different charities including Children In Need, Macmillan Cancer Support, The Archie Foundation & CHAS. We have trips for the children and seasonal parties. Individually we all do different things too!
