LeFunk! is an exceptionally good value, yet highly experienced covers band based in Manchester and specialising in exciting, high energy versions of classic funk, soul and disco dance hits from the 70s and 80s, but also some older and newer songs to provide something for all ages. Ideal for venues of any size from small parties to hotel events, formal or informal. The band will dress appropriately, before and during the performance to suit your requirements. All events within 100 miles of Manchester will be considered. LeFunk! do not use backing tracks or pre-recorded parts. Even the essential bits of extra percussion such as classic disco handclaps are played live by the guitarists using foot triggers! In addition to the live act, LeFunk! can also provide an experienced DJ, spinning the solid sounds of the 60s and 70s club scene; Stax, Motown, Northern Soul, Funk and Disco, all on vinyl. The band’s PA can be used to play music sourced from a laptop or your own favourite gadget (IPod, MP3 player etc) during breaks or before the band plays. You’re also welcome to use the PA to make announcements and speeches. This band will play any song you like! Given at least a month''s advance notice before an event the band will learn and play an additional song of your choice. This could for instance be a ballad (not normally included in the band’s repertoire) for the ‘first dance’ at a wedding. It also has its own stage lighting rigs. What this means to you in practice is that the sound is clear and hi fidelity while powerful and pumping enough to provide for a dancing audience of up to 300 people in an indoor environment. For larger venues or outside events where a PA is not provided, the band can still play, but will hire in additional equipment, the cost of which would be added to the overall fee.
