I will be happy to provide training on the use of your website and will work closely with you to make it as user friendly and functional as possible. WHY WOULD I DO THIS? I need to build up a client base in order to rely on referals from you. That''s right, if you can recommend my services to other companies I can begin to charge for work in the future and that means impressing you with my services. HIDDEN COSTS? Web designers will generally break down their charges something like this: Design time: Charged at an hourly rate (Usually upwards of £40 per hour) Coding and implementation: Again usually charged at an hourly rate (Usually upwards of £40 per hour) Technical Support and training: Charged at an hourly rate Hosting: This is usually a monthly charge for keeping the website on a server There can be charges for various other services also, including SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) support, to help your website get found on Google and the like. All I need you to pay for is for the domain name you wish to use i.e. mycompany.com and for any images you wish to use on your website. You can have a look on 123reg.com to see what domain names are available and prices typically range from £2 per year up to about £150 per year. I can offer free advice on this. Images can be subject to copyright law so searching Google images and using images you find can potentially get you into trouble. If you have your own images this is ideal although Stock imagery can be purchased from companies like iStock for as little as $1 per image. WHAT TO DO NOW?
