I am a counsellor/psychotherapist offering one-to-one sessions for any issue affecting adults and young people. I offer both solution-focused/time-limited counselling and longer-term therapy. I practise in Leeds and Harrogate in central locations and can offer day and evening appointments Monday to Friday and daytime appointments on a Saturday. My approach is relational (i.e. the relationship between counsellor and client is a fundamental aspect of the counselling work), and integrative, which means I draw on a number of different theoretical models, mainly comprising the existential and person-centred approaches. The existential approach is about assisting you in finding meaning in your life and in working out what''s important to you, so you can feel more confident in making choices in your life. The person-centred approach means I work at your pace and only with what you bring, in an understanding and non-judgmental manner. I work with you as a whole person and not as a problem to be solved. Background: After seven years of working in marketing in the music and media industries, I re-trained and qualified as a counsellor with a Certificate in Counselling from wpf, London and a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling with Distinction, from Thames Valley University, Middlesex. Before moving to Yorkshire in 2009, I worked in London with both adults and children in NHS and primary school settings.
