The course is suitable for practicing electricians, domestic installers and other allied trades. It is also suitable for those who require to demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of the IEE 17th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671:2008). 17th Edition Wiring Regulations - BS7671:2008 (update) - 1 day course - This is a one day course for those with previous experience who have achieved one of the following qualifications: • City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in the requiremets for Electrical Installations BS761:2001 (2381) • City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology (Building and Structures) (2330-07) • City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology (Electrical Maintenance) (2330-08) • City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Electrical Installation Part 2 (2360) (From January 1st 2004 onwards only) This will update their knowledge to cover the requirements of the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations. Portable Appliance Testing (PAT Testing) City & Guilds - 1 day course - This is a one day course intended for all those wishing to carry out the In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment. Domestic Electrical Installer Qualification - EAL - DI01 - This is a 5 day intensive course aimed to enable candidates to gain the required competency to allow them to carry out electrical installation work in dwellings in accordance with Part P of the building regulations. With the introduction of Part P, the NICEIC, ECA, Corgi and Summitskills have decided to collaborate and provide this modular training course which is now a national qualification for domestic installers. Although candidates do not require prior knowledge in the form of recognised qualifications, they do need basic literacy and numeracy skills and be aware of basic electrical safety.
