Highland Neuromuscular Movement Services (HNMS) provides advice and training on safe and efficient movement. This ranges from individual consultation, to full Manual Handling (Moving and Handling) Courses. HNMS adopts the Neuromuscular Approach to Human Movement, which is a principle-based analysis of human movement, derived from four main sciences - developmental, anatomical, physiological and bio-mechanical. Many Manual Handling courses are based purely on bio-mechanical techniques. Technique-based training has been proven not to reduce musculo-skeletal injury. The NMA is a principle based, and because it promotes safe and efficient movement, this also offers great therapeutic benefits to health and well-being - by allowing movement to occur in the way it was intended.
