A few words about our MD: BARRY GOUGH MILT; MInstLM; AMInstTA An experienced Engineer, Supply Chain Manager & Systems Analyst, I was for eleven years, the Supply Chain and Operations Manager to Pelmark Ltd., a market leading Promotional Leisurewear Sourcing and Manufacturing Company, with very demanding blue chip clients such as Formula One teams, where I was responsible for TOTAL CUSTOMER SATISFACTION, ALL PRODUCTION & PRODUCT QUALITY, and HR. I have experienced the problems associated with recruitment, both DIY, and by utilising agents, some of whom appear to have little or no background knowledge or understanding of the workplace or job ethics in question. I have spent many years responding to supply chain issues all over the world, and have on many occasions just dropped everything and headed for Europe, the Far East or Middle East to put a critical manufacturing line or supply issue back on track. Prior to this, I was a uniformed member of the armed forces for thirty one years, where I was Transport Manager of the largest fleet of RAF vehicles, computer implementer, senior database manager and systems analyst. In 2008, as a result of a rather awkward back injury, which made driving to Royston daily an impossibility, I was forced to resign from Pelmark. So with time on my hands, I looked for a more sedentary job locally, but alas, when I toured the recruitment agencies and filled in their little registration forms, I was less than impressed with the consultant''s knowledge of the engineering workplace and qualifications and skills required to undertake the specific jobs. So, I thought that I could at least do as well, and with a little effort, even better, so I put my effort into a new recruitment agency which I named Cowper Recruitment, after the poet - William Cowper of Dereham - as my offices were on Cowper Road. I have thus far survived the recession, and have honed my company by focusing on what I know - Recruitment of Engineering and Technical, so I have rebranded the company to "Eng Tech Recruitment." There are no other changes. We are the Same Team - No Take-over, No Merger, and No Sell-out. I know what makes ENGINEERING DISCIPLINES & SUPPLY CHAINS tick from just about every angle, and more importantly just what silences the tick, and it always boils down to one of just three things - processes, communications and people!
